March Madness: The Final Post (pt 1)

hansbrough.pngThis year's championship game wasn't a thriller like last year's Memphis/Kansas square off that resulted in a last second three and a thrilling overtime, but it did teach us all one thing. UNC was real and they weren't joking around.  UNC held commanding leads for most of the entire tournament, it was only LSU who really challenged them at all during a ten minute stretch in the second half of a second round game.  With Ty Lawson back from his toe injury, Wayne Ellington finding his range and Tyler Hansbrough doing all his Psycho T business, UNC winning it all became a foregone conclusion, except for everyone who picked against them.

So what did we learn from this year's tournament?  White guys linking arms at the end of the bench look like idiots.  Winning your conference tournament doesn't mean too much.  At some point, you find out who your friends are.  There's no substitute for being a big time national program with a ton of money.  But we knew all that before, didn't we.

For the real revelations, the winners of our pool, the special method prize winner and some other remarks on the final standings, you've got to click over to http://stevesword.com/ since that was the whole point, after all.

See you there.
