dream_littleWhat were you most looking forward to this weekend?

Oh my stars, there was so much I was looking forward to this weekend, but I guess if I have to decide what I was MOST looking forward to it would probably be sleeping in a bed. You see, I live in my brother's attic in Philadelphia these days but I booked a week of work in New York City. Luckily, I have some gracious and accommodating friends that let me crash on their couches, but nothing compares to the comforts of a bed. Granted, I still haven't slept in my own bed since the night before I put it in a Manhattan Mini-Storage unit in May, but a bed this weekend was nice. Also, getting some action.

Any additions to your Netflix queue?

Now, I know I'm one of the creators of this questionnaire, but are we talking the old, regular snail mail Netflix queue or the instant Netflix queue? This is a very important distinction for several reasons. Mainly, the quality of films between the two lists is quite interesting. The instant queue appears to be comprised of television series, independent films, and movies that time has nearly forgotten. For instance, the other week I watched "Dream a Little Dream", the estranged sibling of the 1980's Mind-Body-Switcharoo brotherhood. How did this end up on the instant queue? Why do the execs at Netflix think that providing you with shitty movies INSTANLY is a good way to get people to use the new feature? Hmm, perhaps there's a column in this, but I haven't added anything to either of my queues in a while. I watch a lot of hulu.

How's that big life decision going?

Every decision in the day is a big life decision. All decisions have consequences. Therefore all carry the weight of your life making them "big". But, ok, fine, I've put off deciding anything about the sex change for another year. I hear when you turn 30 those internal desires to have a vagina start to recede.

What story from the current news cycle is bugging you?

This was a bananas news week. Craziness in Iran continues, the South Carolina Governor flew the coop and then wept about it on TV, the US Soccer team beat Spain, and not only are celebrities dropping like flies but one of the biggest celebrities in the history of Man has died. I have to say, I wasn't bugged by any of this. I was only bugged by "celebrity reactions" to Michael Jackson's death. What is that shit about? Does it really matter what Madonna, Martin Scorcese, P Diddly-Doo, or M.I.A has to say about his passing? Not only does it appear to be self-serving but I honestly don't give a shit. So, yeah, I guess that bugged me a bit.

What's the single most annoying thing you had to deal with this weekend?

Taking care of my brother's goldendoodle. She's lucky she's so damn cute.

Review a movie, tv episode, book, article, restaurant (or meal) or sporting event in one sentence (the one sentence part is pretty loose).

The United States Men's Soccer team played the best half of soccer they ever played against Brazil on Sunday but let it all go to waste in the second half. I am upset by this even though most may say that we should take away a lot of positives from this game. I know the US team's potential and saw it for one half of beautiful soccer and it pains me to see it crumble. With the right coach and the right players on the field we can play with and beat the best in the world. So yeah, I'm pissed that we lost to Brazil.

Did you do anything this weekend you've never done before?  if yes, please summarize.

I ate a pizza with kielbasa on it at a delightful restaurant in the Mt. Airy area of Philadelphia called Earth Bread and Brewery. Not only was it delicious, but all of my dining companions agreed that it was the best pizza that anyone at the table ordered (The vegetarian's opinion is irrelevant). I like to think I'm pretty good at ordering stuff.

Did you leave your town?

Currently, I am homeless. However, I am one of the employed homeless. We are a rare breed. I live nowhere and everywhere at once. So did I leave my town? You could say, yes, or you could say, no, just don't ask me if you can sleep over.

Just throw something out there.  anything.  anything at all.

Bolt Bus is better than Megabus. Don't even try and convince me otherwise. The proof is in the pudding. And by pudding I mean more leg room, outlets on the seats, and 9 out of 10 times they're on time. Megabus, I'll still use you when it is conducive to my schedule but you will always play second fiddle for me when it comes to discount bus service between Philadelphia and New York.

Good to have you around, Spelly! I saw you shakin' that thang at Heartland Brewery in the South Street Seaport, hitting on buxom Midwesterners and wearing a hot pink mesh muscle-t.

And before you ask, no, you can't sleep in my crown.
